27 December 2006 at approx 6:30pm a helicopter crashed whilst approaching a gas production platform in Morecambe Bay, North West coast of England.
This blog will collate information as it emerges about this accident that may point towards the causes & learning points. This is because inquiries take a long time and keeping track of them can be difficult. Also, some of the early information disappears from the public domain over time.

Black-box located
News reports suggest the black-box was located on 7 January, but not recovered. At this time there seem to be no clues as to why the helicopter crashed.
I am a self employed consultant. I live in Llandudno with my wife a two young boys. We enjoy living near the sea and hills and getting away in our caravan. Andy Brazier
